Missing teams may be penalized or disqualified, depending on the tournament rules.
Some events may restrict certain types of teams (e.g., AAU vs. school teams). Review event rules for specific limitations.
Currently we do not anticipate any restrictions for any teams.
All events will require players to wear matching jerseys with numbers.
Technical fouls will be accessed for un-matching jerseys (tops and bottoms), duplicate numbers.
There will also be potential penalties assessed by circuit directors.
Typically, a standard size 7 (29.5”) ball is used for boys' tournaments, and size 6 (28.5”) is used for girls'. Check event details for exceptions.
Games usually consist of 2 halves (20 minutes each) for high school and 2 halves (18 minutes each) for middle school.
All events will use a shot clock (30 seconds) for high school, while others may not. It varies by event.
Overtime is usually 3 minutes, with the same rules as regulation time. If still tied, additional overtime may occur.
Players may be disqualified after 5 fouls (or 6 in some cases) in a game, depending on the event.
Many youth tournaments use a running clock or a mercy rule (if a team leads by a certain margin). Check specific rules for each event.
Tiebreakers typically use point differential, head-to-head results, or other criteria.
Many tournaments have equal play-time rules for younger divisions (U10, U12).
Players are generally restricted to one team, but it depends on the tournament rules.
Referees are typically certified officials assigned by the tournament/league organizers.
Most events have a process to report concerns, often through a designated official or organizer.
Usually, only registered coaches are allowed on the bench, but parents can cheer from the stands.
Yes, most events have a spectator code of conduct to ensure positive behavior and support for the players.
Games can be protested based on rule violations, typically through an official form submitted to event organizers.
Ejected individuals are typically banned from the rest of the game and sometimes the tournament.
Currently there are none. Check with the organizers for available options in the future.
